•The Alpha Institute
Alpha Boys Institute is a vocational institute serving at risk boys 15 and 19 years old. Registered with the Ministry of Education, Alpha Institute is operated by the Religious Sisters of Mercy who are committed to helping young men in need of employment and like skills training. Most of the students reside in inner-city communities where social conditions are very challenging. It offers vocational training in agriculture, music, tailoring, wood working, and screen printing. Of the vocations taught at the Institute, music has been the most prolific.
